I have already assembled several sets from the manufacturer Pantasy, primarily from their "Retro" series. This particular model is a building consisting of 2,956 pieces. It arrives in a sturdy, reusable box featuring high-quality printing of the building and various detailed views. Designed in an old European style, the university library features a modular construction. The assembly process is divided into 15 stages and is guided—as is standard—by two B5-sized instruction manuals (also available digitally), each spanning 155 pages. The 677 individual construction steps are easy to follow, thanks to helpful red markings. Although the manual does not include a parts list, no sticker sheets are required; as is typical for Pantasy, all the bricks are of excellent quality and come with high-quality, pre-printed designs. While the building components are carefully packed in plastic bags, the instruction manuals are placed loose inside the box. This repeatedly resulted in minor damage—something I personally find unnecessary. Packaging the manuals in plastic bags, just like the building components, would have prevented this. The clutch power, the fit between the bricks, and the color harmony and accuracy are outstanding; Pantasy certainly doesn't have to shy away from comparison with the market leader. The construction phases progress efficiently and quickly, partly because the set avoids an excessive number of tiny, individual parts. Additionally, the set includes three attractive minifigures, which I find significantly more appealing and lifelike than those from the market leader. Inside the building, you will find features such as various bookshelves, paintings, and exhibits, as well as a spiral staircase that winds its way through the light-filled, window-rich structure. The building is based on a standard 32 × 32-stud baseplate and is designed to be expanded with additional modules. Once completed, it measures approximately 26 × 26 cm and stands 35 cm tall. Its modular construction allows for the opening of various sections via doors, while removable elements provide access to the interior. The university is well-suited for both play and display as a collector’s item. It is a pity that there is no integrated lighting, which would have significantly enhanced the set’s aesthetic appeal and overall quality.
