BUILD 4 LOVE

August 6, 2024

It's been 1461 days, a full four years since pantasy met you.

Four years ago, we came together out of our love for building blocks. Back then, we were just a group of ordinary block enthusiasts, starting our entrepreneurial journey with a simple dream.

Memories of Pantasy and Our Players

Four years on, we've invited four players to share their stories with Pantasy. Among them are both new friends and familiar faces. Their experiences affirm our journey over these past four years and serve as invaluable guidance for how we can continue to improve. Now, we sincerely invite you to join us in listening to their tales.

Over these four years, we've built a world filled with passion using our tiny building bricks. Along the way, we've met many like-minded friends, tried new things, and weathered storms, but we've always maintained a positive and upward attitude.

Doubao:Understand My Love

"I've had a strong interest in handicrafts for a long time, such as creating dioramas and miniature landscapes by hand. Over time, this interest evolved into a passion for building blocks. I found that building blocks not only require an investment of time and money but also a deep understanding and love for the hobby, which made it a relatively niche interest. In this process, "BlockFan" served as a platform that provided a space for enthusiasts to exchange ideas and share their experiences.

My initial exposure to the "Pantasy" brand came through the "Treasure Bowl" set. I remember that the crowdfunding campaign for "Treasure Bowl" set a historical record. I learned about the project just one day before it ended, and at the time, I was in the middle of moving, so I hesitated. But the project ended quickly due to limited quantities. Eventually, I managed to purchase it through a second-hand market.

From the beginning, "Pantasy" made a strong impression on me with its serious and responsible approach, demonstrating a commitment to showing building block enthusiasts that domestic brands can produce high-quality products. This filled me with anticipation for "Pantasy".

Before the release of the "Bakery" set, "Pantasy" shared a concept image and collected feedback from fans. I had some thoughts on that product and provided detailed feedback, which I sent to Stanley (co-founder of Pantasy). As a result, I joined a group called "Bakery Spirit Shareholders." From the initial design sketch to the final product, there were significant changes, indicating that "Pantasy" indeed listened to the voice of the players.

My personal tastes might be unique, I particularly enjoy nostalgic IPs like "Paladin", "Popeye", "Astro Boy", and "Metal Slug". One of my favorite sets is "Paladin·90s PC Game". This set recreated the classic 1998 romantic edition of "Paladin", the version we first encountered. When I saw players streaming the game on various platforms, I told them about Pantasy's officially licensed building block product, and they were also pleasantly surprised. Soon after, "Paladin·90s PC Game" was featured as a gift at a Paladin fan anniversary event, which delighted me as both a "Pantasy" player and a "Paladin" fan.

Due to my deep understanding and support for "Pantasy", I actively recommend the brand to others, even when faced with skeptics. I believe truly excellent products deserve to be discovered by more people.

In my view, the diversification of Pantasy's products is very important. Despite my busy work schedule, I remain dedicated to my hobbies. Apart from building blocks, I am also passionate about musical theater. Recently, in the circle of musical theater enthusiasts, I saw someone sharing a Pantasy building block product that was a collaboration with China Southern Airlines. This kind of cross-over collaboration was quite surprising to me. I hope that Pantasy will not limit itself to a specific domain or audience but instead expand its influence and grow through collaborations with different IPs and brands, as well as developing cultural and creative products."

Chen Xiaoxiong: Giving Memory a Vehicle Through Building Blocks

"I first became aware of the brand Pantasy through their "Treasure Bowl" set. What impressed me most at the time was the quality of their instruction manuals. Whether it was the Sherlock Holmes 221B Baker Street or other products, it was clear that Pantasy put a lot of thought into their manuals—printed on glossy paper, they looked and felt premium, with beautifully detailed illustrations. More importantly, the manuals were beginner-friendly, specifically labeling pieces like 1x6, 1x8, and 1x12 bricks to indicate the number of studs they have. While this might seem obvious to newcomers, but experienced builders appreciate these thoughtful touches.

During the building process, I noticed that Pantasy intentionally varied certain assembly methods to keep things interesting. For example, in the Sherlock Holmes 221B Baker Street set, the left side used pin connections, while the right side featured a rotating and foldable structure. Similarly, in the Tong Fu Inn scene from My Own Swordsman, the wall construction techniques differed, showcasing Pantasy’s creativity and attention to detail.

My personal favorite product is "Paladin·90s PC Game." As an old-school gamer, the first game I played on our family computer was Paladin 98 Romantic Edition, which I completed multiple times. During the product design phase, Pantasy conducted a fan survey, and I even added Derrick (CEO & Co-founder) on WeChat to provide my suggestions. Therefore, this product is not just a vessel for memories but also has a sense of personal involvement. Both the Baker Street 221B Apartment and "Paladin·90s PC Game" feature promotional videos that are meticulously crafted, going beyond mere advertising to evoke a collective nostalgia among building block enthusiasts and IP fans.

If I had to describe my deepest impression of Pantasy, it would be their slogan: "Born for Collecting." Initially, I didn’t fully grasp the meaning behind this, but after experiencing their products firsthand, I understood the meaning. From design to finished product, every step is dedicated to collecting. In my new home, I have a display cabinet dedicated to Pantasy and LEGO creations. Whenever friends and classmates visit, I proudly introduce them to Pantasy, telling them it’s a domestic brand, and often recommend it to them.

I also really appreciate the atmosphere in Pantasy’s user groups. Here, members can freely discuss products from other brands, offer good suggestions, or express their thoughts on building blocks and the future of Pantasy. This open and friendly environment is heartwarming, and even small details make many group members willing to promote the brand within their own means.

I remember Derrick said something in the user group that deeply touched me, he expressed his firm belief that if Pantasy releases one zodiac-themed figure each year, they will definitely cover all 12 zodiac signs. Although I can’t shout out such slogans, like buying ten sets of each release, I will do my best to support Pantasy’s products. I genuinely hope to see a new zodiac-themed figure from Pantasy every year. As long as they continue to produce them, I’ll buy them!"

Zuilong: Original, High Quality, Sincere, Chinese Style Building Blocks

"I've had a strong affection for assembly toys since I was young, such as Gundam models, building blocks, and ship models. After starting work, I began purchasing them occasionally. My consistent engagement with building blocks really began in 2017 when I moved into a larger home that provided ample space to store these toys.

Initially, I started with mechanical sets and gradually transitioned to cityscapes and brickheads. Nowadays, I tend to collect and assemble smaller scenes more often. Building blocks provide me with a different kind of emotional satisfaction, when I'm engrossed in assembling, I become very focused, which helps me relax and relieve stress. Completing a large set brings an indescribable sense of accomplishment.

My first impression of Pantasy came from seeing their Christmas Cup on a building block-related public account, but I didn't buy it at the time. The first product I purchased from them was a Treasure Bowl they launched through crowdfunding. My immediate thought was: finally, there's a brand making Chinese-style building blocks, so I bought one without hesitation. It was only later that I learned more about the Pantasy brand.

I didn't unbox it right away, instead waiting until I was ready to take it back home for the New Year. Before that, I saw many people in the group complaining about the instruction book and acrylic panels, which made me a bit anxious. However, when I opened the box, the texture was excellent. As for the acrylic panels, following the advice of fellow enthusiasts, I used a hot glue gun to fix them myself, avoiding potential issues. Overall, my first impression was positive, and I even felt that this set was better than some other domestic sets I had previously purchased.

When I first encountered Pantasy, I also questioned the price point for domestic building blocks, but the Chinese style designs appealed to me, so I decided to give it a try. Later, I found that the texture was very good, the designs were original, the IP licensing was official, and the brand founder was very kind and open to feedback—these were reasons to support them.

Pantasy did have quality control issues early on, such as forgetting to include a brick separator in the Treasure Bowl. They later sent out replacements using SF Express, where the shipping cost was more expensive than the brick separator itself. This incident became a frequent joke among fans but also contributed to the company's good reputation, showing that they are a sincere company.

Over time, I gradually learned about the efforts Pantasy has put into product development, manufacturing process selection, and mold development for bricks, which truly demonstrated the brand's commitment to quality.

The Metal Slug Series Neogeo impressed me the most, with its noticeable improvement in texture. I particularly enjoyed the interactive mechanisms designed within, it is very ingenious. Compared to static display sets, I prefer sets with movable parts.

Chinese aesthetics and products imbued with traditional Chinese cultural elements are my favorite themes. Therefore, I really liked this year's Fortune Dragon Ship. Early on, my favorite set was Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate, including the P-Box series and the four Joyside products, which unfortunately haven't been updated. As for IP series, I've collected the entire Le Petit Prince and Popeye series and picked up some of the Astro Boy and Sherlock Holmes sets. Although the steampunk theme is relatively niche, I personally love it.

In fact, until the first half of last year, I had almost completed Pantasy's product. But due to lack of space at home, I now have to select only my favorites to purchase.

Now, I can clearly see that Pantasy's reputation is growing. When I first recommended Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate to my colleagues, they weren't familiar with the brand, but after successful crossover collaborations like Astro Boy and Tong Fu Inn, some colleagues have started recommending Pantasy products to me. Especially some friends who only played LEGO have begun to accept Pantasy, which makes me very happy.

For the future, I am still looking forward to Pantasy continuing to release Chinese-style building block products, such as themes similar to Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate. Additionally, I'm eagerly anticipating the Dragon Ball IP series, which has been eager for several years now, and I hope to see the series released soon! "

Marco: Quality, Pad-Print, endless pleasure

"I am Marco, live in beautiful Munich (Germany). I run a company in the field of software development for start-ups and ecommerce companies.

I've been building sets almost every day for the last few years. For me, it's a kind of meditation from daily life. Whenever I build with bricks, I can enter a state of flow.

As a hobby I run a YouTube channel called “Der Donnergurgler” where I present sets from different building block brands. Since I started my channel, I have built just over 500 sets of different brands and sizes. My main focus is modular building and sets with pop culture themes like Star Wars.

I bought and built my first Pantasy set in December 2021. The Pantasy - Sherlock Holmes Apartment (86218) convinced me immediately. Go-Bricks and a great design, plus a Sherlock Holmes license, everything fitted together perfectly.

So far I have built about 19 Pantasy sets. Most of them were outstandingly good, but some of them also had room for improvement. However, the quality has always been great.
I also remember the retro TV and the retro computer as very great sets.  As a fan of modular buildings, I also remember the Forest Cabin (85003) as a great construction.

Quality, Pad-Print, pleasure

Just carry on like this. I think it's great that Pantasy is always trying new ideas."
