Tricky to put together but worth it!
The Pantasy Steampunk Nautilus is a gorgeous, jaw‑dropping display piece wrapped around a very finicky technic core. As my first big technic adventure, this set absolutely humbled me. I can confidently say this set is not technic‑beginner friendly. There are loose connections, unclear instructions and some connections never felt fully secure, even after swapping in longer pins, the entire front third still doesn’t lock into the middle section the way I hoped. A few areas remain loose no matter how many times I revisit them, which tells me this design just isn’t as refined as Pantasy's newer releases. But the squid and base? Perfection. The squid absolutely steals the show. The base and squid together are so charming and dynamic that Pantasy could release just that as a standalone coral‑reef‑creature build and it would be an instant buy for me. It is a fantastical silhouette that would shine in any brick collection. This older Pantasy design definitely shows its age, but it also highlights how far the brand has come. Their modern sets are leaps and bounds smoother, clearer, and sturdier. This was my 10th Pantasy build, and while it wasn’t the best of the bunch, it’s still a stunning display piece—and I’m already excited for build number eleven.
